In short: we store what your account needs to work and what you choose to publish. We do not sell your data. Funden does not show ads today; when it does, we will ask for your permission before using advertising cookies. You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time from Your account.
Funden (fundengt.com) is a community platform to track your progress in video games, keep lists of films, series, anime, manga and books, and take part in a forum. The controller of the data described here is the owner of the website, whose contact details are in the Legal Notice.
Account: username, email address, password (only as a bcrypt hash, never in readable form), preferred language, and whatever you add to your profile: picture, banner, colour and bio.
Sign in with Google: if you use it, we store the identifier Google assigns to your account and its email, to recognise you. Google never gives us your password.
Open sessions: for each device you sign in on, we store the browser you use, the IP address and the dates it started and was last used. This lets you see and close your sessions from your account and helps us detect unauthorised access.
Social activity: friends, friend requests, blocked users, notifications and invitations to share leaderboards, tournaments or 1v1 matches.
Content you publish: forum threads and replies, reviews, ratings, lists, suggestions and images you upload.
Video games:
League of Legends: the accounts you add (Riot ID, region) and the public data provided by the official Riot Games API: rank, LP, match history and statistics. If you verify that an account is yours by changing its profile icon, we store that link with your user.
Escape from Tarkov: quests, hideout, items and profile that you enter yourself.
FIFA: tournaments, 1v1 matches and career mode recorded by users.
Entertainment: the films, series, anime, manga and books you add to your lists, with their status, progress and score.
Contact form: the name, email, subject and message you send us. They reach our inbox as an email and are not stored in the database.
Visit statistics: pages viewed, country, device type and browser, aggregated and anonymous (see Umami in section 8).
Advertising (once enabled): the data that Google and its partners collect through cookies and browser identifiers, described in section 7.
3. What we use it for
Purpose
Legal basis
Creating and maintaining your account, signing you in and showing your data on the platform.
Performance of the service you ask for when you sign up.
Confirming your email, recovering your password and alerting you to security changes on your account.
Performance of the service and legitimate interest in protecting your account.
Recording sessions and IP addresses, limiting sign-in attempts and moderating content.
Legitimate interest in the security of the platform and its users.
Sending you email alerts about friend requests.
Consent: you can unsubscribe at any time.
Anonymous visit statistics to learn what is used and improve it.
Legitimate interest; they do not identify anyone.
Showing ads and measuring their performance, personalised or not (once advertising is enabled).
Consent, which we ask for before loading any ad and which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell your data or make automated decisions about you. What you keep in your account (library, lists, messages, game statistics) is never used to choose the ads you see.
4. What others can see
Your username, picture, banner, bio and what you post on the forum are public.
Your lists, your library and the sections of your profile have visibility settings that you control from your account.
Leaderboards, tournaments and 1v1 matches can be private, public or shared only with the people you invite.
That a League of Legends account is verified as yours is only visible to you and your friends.
Your email address is never shown to other users.
5. Emails we send you
Required for your account: email confirmation, password reset, a notice when your password changes and notices about the deletion of your account.
Optional: a summary of pending friend requests. You can turn them off with the unsubscribe link included in each one.
At your request: the copy of your data, if you ask us for it by email.
We do not send newsletters or advertising by email.
6. Cookies and local storage
Today Funden only uses one cookie, and it is technical: funden_rt keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It has no advertising or tracking purpose, which is why we do not ask for your consent for it. Your browser also keeps some preferences (theme, language) and cached data in its local storage so the site loads faster. They never leave your device and you can clear them from your browser settings.
Once we enable advertising, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads, limit how often you see the same one, measure their performance, prevent fraud and, if you agree, personalise them. Before any of them is set, we will show you a consent notice, managed with a Google-certified platform under the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework, where you can accept them, reject them or choose by purpose. Rejecting them does not stop you from using Funden, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy preferences link in the site footer.
7. Advertising
Funden is free. To cover its costs we plan to show ads through Google AdSense. As of this version, no advertising is shown yet; this section will apply from the moment it is enabled, and we will let you know on the site.
Who chooses the ads: Google and, if you agree, other Google-certified ad providers. They act as independent controllers of the data they collect for their own purposes.
What data they use: cookie or device identifiers, IP address, browser type, the page you are viewing and, for personalised ads, interests inferred from your activity on other sites. We never give them your name, your email or the content of your account.
Personalised and non-personalised ads: if you do not consent to personalisation, you will only see ads based on the context of the page and on general data such as your approximate location.
More information and control: how Google uses information from sites that use its services, at policies.google.com; your Google ad preferences, at My Ad Center; and interest-based advertising from other companies, at youronlinechoices.eu.
8. Third-party services
Funden relies on these services to work. Each of them only receives what is strictly necessary:
Google: Sign in with Google, if you use it; sending our emails, which go out through Gmail; Google Fonts typefaces; and, once enabled, Google AdSense advertising and its consent notice.
Riot Games: official API and League of Legends graphic assets (Data Dragon and CommunityDragon).
tarkov.dev: item, quest and map data for Escape from Tarkov.
TMDB, AniList and Open Library: details and images of films, series, anime, manga and books. Your browser requests the information about what you search for directly from them.
Have I Been Pwned: when you create a password we check whether it appears in known breaches. Only the first 5 characters of its hashed fingerprint are sent, which do not reveal what it is.
Umami: visit analytics installed on our own server. It uses no cookies and the data does not leave our infrastructure.
Server provider: the website and database are hosted on a virtual private server rented from a hosting provider.
Some of these services are outside the European Economic Area. In those cases, transfers are covered by the safeguards each provider offers, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
9. How long we keep it
Account and content: for as long as you have the account. When you delete it, it stays deactivated for 14 days in case you change your mind, and after that it is permanently deleted along with your data. Your public threads, replies and comments are kept, but anonymously, so other people's conversations are not broken; if you would rather they disappeared, delete them first.
Sessions: they expire after 30 days without use, and you can close them sooner whenever you like.
Confirmation and recovery links: they expire on their own and stop working as soon as they are used.
Contact form messages: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Your choice about advertising cookies: for a maximum of 24 months, after which we will ask you again.
Backups: deleted data may remain in them for a limited time until they are renewed.
10. Security
All communication is encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored with bcrypt, sessions can be revoked and reuse of a session token is detected. Sign-in attempts are rate-limited to slow down attacks. No system is infallible: if we detect an incident affecting your data, we will tell you.
11. Your rights
At any time, you can:
Access your data and take it with you: download a full copy in JSON format from Your account → Your data.
Correct it: you can change most of it yourself from your account.
Delete it: from Your account → Delete account, without having to ask us.
Object to processing or ask us to restrict it.
Withdraw your consent, for example by turning off email alerts or changing your cookie preferences.
If you cannot sign in to your account, or for any other request, write to [email protected] stating your username. We will send our reply, and where applicable the copy of your data, to the confirmed email address of your account within one month at most. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country; in Spain, it is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
12. Minors
You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. If you are younger, you may only use Funden with the consent of your parents or guardians. If we learn that an account was created without meeting this requirement, we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
When the site changes, this policy changes with it. If the change is significant (for example, when advertising is enabled) we will announce it on the platform, and the date at the top always shows the latest version.
